Introduction
Hello, hello! I'm Muse, as most of you probably know by now. I'm a professional writer, amateur artist, and professional performing artist. I have a multitude of interests, hobbies, and outside activities that keep me occupied, but fandom is where I like to have fun and let my creative spark catch fire where it wills. I'm currently working on my graduate degree in creative writing and comparative literature, and one of my absolute favorite things in the world is talking about writing as an art form, as a skill, and as a trade.Currently—outside of original and academic work—I only write for Jujutsu Kaisen; preferably for: Ryōmen Sukuna, Toji Fushiguro, Satoru Gojo, Kento Nanami, and Takako Uro.As far making friends and community is concerned, I am extremely discerning about who I associate with and grow close to. To that end, I vastly prefer one-on-one and small group interactions (2-5 in a group chat, max); so no, I will not join your Discord server. Fandom has become increasingly more hostile and toxic to visible and unapologetic Black women like myself so I am stringent in my vetting on who is actually safe to be around and talk to; and most of the time my instincts are correct.

Before You Follow
You should definitely read this before you decide to follow me. If I seem strict about how I run things in this space it's because I am: abide, or leave.𖤓 First and foremost: my blog—and by extension all online spaces I claim ownership of—is for adults only. Knowing this, I expect everyone who enters my spaces to conduct themselves like reasonable adults. I know kids like to be in grown folks business so if you do find yourself here: behave.𖤓 I am an anti-censorship blogger. I will not tolerate people telling me or others what to write, how to write it, why to write it, or when. I interact with and sometimes post dark content and subject matter. You have absolutely no authority to tell anyone what they're allowed to create, and I have better things to do with my time than arguing about what people are making the fictional people do in their stories and art. And no, telling you you're being racist is not the same as censorship because racism in fandom causes actual material harm.𖤓 I do not support generative AI in any form. This includes character AI, Midjourney, ChatGPT, and others. I don't care why you think you need to use it, I already think less of you for it. This disdain extends to good old-fashioned plagiarism as well. I know exactly what it looks like, and I don't keep quiet to "keep the peace." Peace is for after accountability has been established.𖤓 If you find yourself holding a personal grudge against me for whatever reason, I advise you to drop it or hit my line to clear the air before you give yourself an autoimmune disease from carrying useless and directionless anger. I don't shy from confrontation, and I understand that to those who do, this may come off as aggressive. I don't think speaking with confidence and assertiveness is aggressive; I do think that is just you projecting your being intimidated by a Black woman who does not defer or capitulate to anyone who has not earned that deference. Perhaps unpack why you are so quick to label me as a bully or aggressor in a dispute.𖤓 If you are rude and/or condescending to me in any way, I will take that as a sign of you showing me what you really think of me and block you. I don't have time nor energy to play the subtle social cue games of online spaces. If you don't vibe with me, leave me alone. Easy day.

𖤓 I write long-form fiction and this encompasses the gamut of using mythic and figurative language in my prose. I never expected to get complaints about using words that people had to look up, but this is just indicative of the literacy crisis. That being said, before you climb into my inbox to tell me to dumb down my words for your consumption, ask yourself why you simply cannot be bothered to improve your reading ability instead.𖤓 This is OC x Canon country. I do not really care for Reader fic, and I do not like to write it. I only read it if it's compelling enough and my standards are high. If that is something you find issue with, you are welcome to find another writer suited to your preferences.𖤓 I only write dark-skinned Black female characters as my protagonists and I have no plans on changing that. Ever. Know this going into my stories, and if you harass me or my mutuals about "why are there Black people in this person's fic being Black" I will put your name in a fucking jar.𖤓 My interpretation of canon source material can and very likely will differ from your own and if that’s not something you can handle comfortably with an open mind then my fanworks are likely not something you will enjoy and you should refrain from interacting with them.𖤓 My personal headcanons, meta, analysis, and theories exist to serve my stories and myself. They are not free use for anyone to pick up and haphazardly insert into their own works. Plagiarism gets a block from me.𖤓 I do not allow the reposting or translating of my works anywhere for any reason. The only places my work are posted are Tumblr, Wordpress, and AO3.𖤓 On Constructive Criticism & Critique: If I didn't ask for it, that's not your cue to give it. If you elect to ignore this boundary, and I see that your 'critique' is just poorly-veiled mean-spirited bullying, or I see it is done in bad faith, I will block you. I know the difference between good and helpful critique and bad faith browbeating; do you?

I have been on the internet since 1997 when you needed a landline and a CD to access it. I have been doing fandom just as long, both in meatspace and in online spaces. I have seen every permutation of fandom drama, wank, and controversy you can imagine, and one thing I've learned is that as a visibly and vocally Black woman in fandom is that it's best to just let these things sort themselves out.However.I do not condone harassment, doxing, or whisper campaigns in fandom. These gossip blogs, fandom wank communities, or whatever the kids are calling them these days have never resulted in anything more than an exceedingly toxic environment for everyone, and rarely results in the alleged accountability these individuals claim to want. It's not a healthy way to engage with these spaces, and I block people I see engaging, encouraging, and supporting this behavior. I was once a badly behaved girl on the internet myself, and I've since learned that this kind of behavior usually stems from something deeper than a petty dispute over who gets to kiss which fictional character. Please keep your myopic cynicism and Mormon-brained moralizing and proselytizing away from me and my sandbox.Fandom has never been a competition to me because to me it has never lent itself to being a competitive space. However, in the age of social media algorithms and metrics being used to measure someone's reach and impact and thus increase their social currency, I have come to realize a lot of people see fandom as a competitive arena and not a communal space. If this is your ministry, more power to you and godspeed; but it is not mine, and I have no interest in connecting with people who only see me as a rival or enemy to be defeated, or endlessly compare me and others to each other to foster a competition none of us consented to being in. I just want my OCs and favorite characters to kiss, bang, and have adventures; same agenda I've had since I was 8 years old.For my fellow Black people in fandom, especially those who are still new and green to the eddies of fandom politicking, my only advice to you is to build up a strong sense of self, and a very strong and solid ethnic pride. The racism in fandom is as bad as it has ever been, but understand that a lot of these individuals a mostly toothless hounds. Block them, do not feed into their rage-baiting messages or "hot takes" because their goal is never to facilitate any meaningful discourse: it is to exert power over marginalized members of the community through a false sense of superiority and pseudo-intellectualism. They are nobody you want to be associated with nor should you ever seek understanding or approval from them. Continue to create fanworks that bring you joy.
